ELECTRIFICATION
There has been recent interest in changing home heating systems from gas or oil furnaces to heat pumps. The Federal government has issued some great tax incentives for heat pumps. There are also utility rebates available as well.
With newer technology the new systems are able to heat homes at outside temperatures below zero. A heat pump uses electricity to operate a pump (compressor) to move heat. Heat pumps do not make heat or cool, they only move it. In the winter a heat pump will capture heat from the outside and transfer it inside to heat your home. Even at zero degrees outside, there is heat that can be transferred to the inside.
